  • My practice is completely mobile, so all services are provided in the comfort of your own home.

  • YES! The success of Pelvic Floor Therapy is widely supported in the literature. Evidence based practice provided in the context of your personal needs and experience is the sweet spot to finding a solution to your problem. I always make sure to take the time to explain the “why” behind the recommendation.

  • As a starter, we will review and dig deeper into your intake form (this is required prior to evaluation). It’s super important to me that you are provided with ample time and space to share any details about your history and story with me.

If you are choosing to participate in an external or internal exam, here’s what that part of the evaluation will look like:

External exam: consists of perineal observations of the tissues and patterns of movement of the perineum, as well as gentle palpation of the bony landmarks, vulva, and vulvar structures in order to assess sensation.

Internal exam: consists of your therapist inserting one gloved and lubricated finger into the vagina in order to test the strength, coordination, and muscle integrity of your pelvic floor muscles. This portion of the exam may also test for pelvic organ prolapse if you would like/are experiencing symptoms of prolapse. It is a bit longer than a typical OB/GYN internal exam, and you will be asked to kegel a number of times. It may take up to 2 minutes. As your ongoing consent and comfort are of the utmost importance to me, I will be sure to check in on you during this portion of the exam. You may ask to stop or take a break at any time if needed!

The above exams are 100% your choice to participate in or not, and during the appointment I would be happy to further discuss the pros and cons or answer any additional questions you may have.

Depending on your symptoms, it may also be necessary to observe and assess the following:

    Breathing patterns

    Postural assessment

    Movement patterns

    Ergonomic home setup

    Mental health check-in

    Scar assessment

    Bowel and bladder habits

    Diastasis Recti evaluation

    Core assessment

    Pain scales

Anything else you may find relevant, please don’t hesitate to ask! If I don’t have the answer I will try my best to find it or refer you to another skilled practitioner. The entire length of the evaluation will be about 1.5 hours.

  • Please note that all services are currently out of network with all insurances. HSA funds are accepted, and necessary documentation for out of network benefits will be provided upon request. This model allows for longer sessions and more comprehensive care, which consistently results in fewer sessions and a faster recovery.

    Let’s do some math…

A typical course of treatment with an insurance based therapist is 30-45 minutes for 12 sessions with a copay range of $30-$60. With an out of network model of care, we are often able to achieve the same results with 4-6 hour long sessions. This costs only slightly more, allows me to provide high quality care that treats the whole person, and is also respectful of everyone’s time. Of course this varies depending upon an individual’s needs, but the vast majority of my clients fall into this range. If every other week or monthly sessions are budget friendly for you, I always make myself available in between sessions for an email or quick chat to check in on progress.

  • Yes. If your household income is less than 150K a year, please reach out for discounted rates. I reserve space for two new clients a month that fall into this category. A payment plan (max 6 months) is also available for those who need it.

  • Absolutely not! Services are not limited to those who have given birth. If you have a pelvic floor, you can experience symptoms and benefit from Pelvic Floor Therapy.
